Winter Wellness 2019 - Consent: Love and Law in the #MeToo era

This discussion will explore the legal, ethical and practical aspects of consent facilitated by a team of criminal attorneys. A link to the slides used during the talk appears below.

Talk given by David Gonzalez and Corinne Sumpter who have spoken to teenagers about their legal risks and rights for more than 20 years. This legal team works in private practice, to help teens and families through the challenging personal and legal issues surrounding consent.

Winter Wellness 2019 - Nutrition and Disordered Eating: Making Sense of Eating Well

Nutrition is a popular buzzword and the latest craze! Paleo? Keto? Vegan? There is so much information out there. How do we make sense of it all? This session also will involve discussions of how you know when things have gone too far, how diets can lead to excessive restrictions and the slippery slope to eating disorders.

This talk is given by Adee Levinstein, MS, RD, CSSD, LD, who works as a registered dietitian at Eating Recovery Center in Austin. Levinstein has a master’s degree in exercise science and is currently a certified specialist in sports dietetics.

Winter Wellness 2019 - Mental Health and Wellness: Creating a Safe Space for Communication and Connection with Your Child

As you and your children continue to grow through the years, learn ways to grow together in the challenging moments.

This program will be led by Junice Rockman, clinical psychotherapist, and Rock Rockman, Certified Life Coach. Together, they specialize in marriage and family therapy. They are local counselors and regular contributors to Austin's public radio station, KUT, and have presented to students in numerous school and colleges.
